What is Vertical Blinds?
Vertical blinds are a type of window covering introduced in 1948 by the Flexible Blind Company (later associated with Hunter Douglas). They became popular as an alternative to traditional draperies due to their sleek, streamlined appearance, versatility, energy efficiency, and wide variety of finishes.
Unlike horizontal blinds, vertical blinds have slats that hang vertically and draw to the side rather than being lifted or lowered, making them easier and faster to operate. They are particularly well-suited for patio doors, sliding glass doors, and wide windows, where side-to-side operation is more practical.
